1. RMF site usage: Introduction

This online report uses organisational statistics available via Learning@Griffith to provide information about the number of visits and the number of visitors to the Research methods forum. The data set was collated across four months, from July through October, and summary information about the site reported under the following headings (0r navigate via site menu):
Relative usage of major site locations in terms of number of hits per month: Showing the number of hits for each of three site locations.

Relative usage of major site locations in terms of number of visitors per month: The number of visitors to each of those site locations.

Number of visitors in each of four months: Summarising the number of site visitors in July, August, September, and October.

Cumulative number of visitors across four months: Demonstrating by accumulation that additional participants visit each month

Cumulative percentage across four months: The number of additional visitors per month in percentage terms (percent of total number of participants).

Cumulative percentage across the years: Demonstrating by reduction to absurdity the length of time it would take for all 3000 to visit the RMF site.

Comment on pattern on usage (Nielsen): Jacob Nielsen, the web guru of usabilty, makes sense of it all.
